About HRO

Published by Admin under HRO Main Blog

Dear Friends,

I just want to take a minute to write this blog about HRO and what an amazing organization it is.  I first became involved with HRO about 2 1/2 years ago supporting the network and computers in Olga’s office.  In this short timeframe I have witnessed millions of dollars worth of donated medicine, food and medical equipment go out to those in need from here in Hampton Roads, to Central and South America and Africa.  I have seen more people become involved and activities extended to India, Kyrgyzstan, and other areas.

HRO accomplishes this through an extensive network of individual contributors and organizations as well as other partner Non-profits and groups involved in humanitarian assistance around the World.  Each and every year this network grows larger and larger and HRO with it.  But the important thing is that as HRO grows the number of lives touched grows.

In 2006 I was truly amazed to have witnessed a school bus converted to a mobile medical clinic for the jungle, “Flown” thousands of miles in a USAF military cargo plane to Guatemala.  This was accomplished through a partnership between HRO and the Denton program which we honored just this past week in our annual award ceremony.  On a regular basis I hear about medicines going here, educational materials going there, shoes going to another destination and almost as importantly along with those precious cargoes a message of hope.

This blog is a place to talk about those programs and for HRO’s partners and contributors (you) to share information about your own activities and your interaction and working relationship with HRO.

As we move further into a new year HRO has surpassed an amazing milestone having delivered over $100 million dollars worth of relief aid in only 12 years and from humble beginnings.  With your help we can double, triple and quadrouple that number in the years ahead.

I hope you blog often so that the internet search engines pick up your messages and spread them far and wide so that many more can find out about HRO, and become involved.

With warmest wishes to all of you,

Jonathan Pratt
