News From HRO Costa Rica

Published by Admin under HRO Main Blog

Dear Friends,

How are you? I imagine you are getting ready for Christmas?

Here in Costa Rica you can see Christmas ornamentation all over. I love this month particularly, in 37 days it’s my birthday YUPPY. Well about me, I do feel much better after my surgery I did have some problems but day by day I do feel much stronger.

Regarding my volunteer work at my church it’s getting busy each day. More schools are contacting me asking for help, the other projects are slowly getting formed. Whoever I’m concerned for the lack of finances. We almost have all the gifts for Christmas for the 800 kids, but still need 150 of those gifts to complete our goal, our church helped so much to collect them.

My vision for next year is to provide the materials and uniforms for those kids, also help the schools that are contacting us.

Please complete and read the document I sent to you, and also if you can share this with your church that will help us.  I need funding ASAP. I put some other pictures and other info.

My family is doing well, however my dad has a small accident 6 days, ago and Saturday night as well. Both times he fell down. But thank God he does not have problems with his prosthesis.

My dear friend I have so much dreams and vision for next year with the projects, I only need personal and ministry support. It’s been hard for me with all these people who ask me for help, I don’t have personal finances, so, that’s when my faith is coming out, I need more faith and believe God is going to fix all this.

I need help guys to complete all these projects, to many people in need break my heart, I wish you can see all this kids faces, the only thing they want it’s a opportunity of be happy with the only gift they will get this year in Christmas, or a uniform for school, please pray really for us and if God put in your heart to help us with any of this projects please let me know ASAP.

Love you guys and miss you

God Bless you always

Kathia

    Proposals for Costa Ricca

    By Kathia Montes

    Costa Rica Human Relief Organization

    2008

    Population:                                                                        4,427,910 inhabitants

    Official Language:                                                                                 Spanish

    Political System:                                                                                Democracy

Official Religion:         Catholic (with the freedom of expression of other beliefs)

My vision and mission for Costa Rica, Immediate plans:

At the moment due to my limitations of resources I will be working this year to develop some kind of sponsorship programs for school kids, to help some of them to to go to school and also to have better nutrition. As well, I’m thinking about some programs for small companies for single moms and widows. That way the moms can make money to support their families, and the kids will not have to work and will be able to go to school.  I believe the kids are the future and if we help them to get better education and nutrition, I know this country is going to improve more and more.

My vision and mission for the future of Costa Rica:

Is to provide medical assistance, education, food, clothing and a message of hope to the less fortunate in Costa Rica.  Develop programs for communities in different areas that help families be self sustainable.  Host short-term mission teams of Doctors, Nurses, Dentists, church adult and youth teams, and non-medical personal, who just want to come and hlp htose less fortunate.  Specailizing in helping the remote Indian Villages where there is no medical or dental care.  If the churches from other places would like to come and help work in these villages and be a part of a mission team by assisting in patient caree.  No medical experience is needed, just a big heart and a lot of loving compassion.

    I’m attending to school again:

This year I did register myself in 5 different courses, 2 different schools. The courses will help me in my ministry here in Costa Rica. The courses are relatively cheap, but I do still need the support that will cover that. The focus of the course is, how to help single moms and widows with the micro-enterprise, also to help ladies to cook and have their own business. There is one course to help shoe me how to work woth the children.

    Objectives and Goals:

1)Programs list, 2)children feeding center for about 50 kids in a poor area, 3)micro-enterprise projects for single moms and widows, 4)Organize Medical clinics for the Indian Villages, 5)Community Women’s Health Education, 6)Scholarship programs for poor kids.

These type of projects will will be established at different times and we will have to bring in competent people to help develpo the projects.

    Goals for Central America:

Support different programs with the different NGO’s and HRO International aroun Latin-American. Partnership and support the NGO’s in the same area above.

    Needs:

I am asking for the financial support and help because Costa Rica is being left behind because of the cliche’ of Costa Rica is a rich Country.

HRO International is anonpolitical, non-denominational entity foundedin 1994 as a non-profit (501C), tax exempt, international releif organization which arranges a variety of support for the needy of the world.

    Dear Friend,

Hope you are doing well and are blessed during this time.  My prayers for each one of you is much prosperity, peace, and good health. I have many plans for next year, please pray for meand all that God has put in my heart, its not only good intentions but to have a plan and funding for it.  Some people have asked me for help with funding for different projects, the wish list is growing.

I do not have sponsors yet for 800 children for next years school program. If you are interested in sponsoring a child, the cost is $395 US per child. This will cover their school needs from February 2008 till December 2008.  The money will go to cover the cost of tuition, books, didactic materials, uniforms, shoes and lunch for the entire school year.

There are 3 schools here that need help with obtaining alot of equipment.  One school has 300 kids, one school has 250 and their are 100 kids at the last school.

I still need at least 26 gifts to make 800 gifts before the 23rd of this month. Unfortunatly we do not have any sponsors for the 800 children for school for 2008.  I am beginning to become a little stressed so please pray for me.  Please be a part of this dream  by praying with me.  PS. if you would like to help with any of these projects you can send a check to the Houston address or or to be deposited directly to my account. please let me know by email to confirm the amount and for which project you would like to donate to.

    Thank you and God Bless,

HRO-Pakistan establishes another Vocational Training Center

Published by Admin under HRO Main Blog

At Rojhan District Rajanpur (Flood & Cyclone affected area)

(Report October 25th 2007)

Vocational School at Rojhan District Rajanpur

Rojhan district Rajanpur is the most backward area of South Punjab situated at about 1000 miles south to Islamabad at the border of Sindh & Punjab. Population is more than 30,000 that depends for their living mostly upon agriculture. As the area is costal area, it used to be affected every year from flood & cyclone especially in last June 2007 when all of their houses & crops were washed away. As a result poverty is overwhelming & 90% of people are living below poverty line in miserable conditions.  The area lacks basic life facilities of health, education, water & sanitation.

Women, who forms more than 55% of the population are living in more pathetic condition suffering a lot for the lack education, health & basic human rights largely because of resources & partly because of local culture. There is only one school for girls by the government. Literacy rate ( up to class 10) is less than 3% among women. So after that they stay at their home having nothing to do after completing household responsibilities.
Seeing the tremendous ambitions & hopes of this vulnerable & weaker part of the society, HRO-Pakistan approached & mobilized the local community to form a “Community Organization” of women of the area. President & General Manager were selected amongst the member women. CO selected the premises & appointed a skilled female teacher for teaching tailoring & embroidery skills to enrolled candidates in the Centre. HRO-Pakistan provided the Machines & all other stuff that was required by the centre & monthly salary of the teacher while premises was donated by the community.

                         Vocational Class

In two days of establishment of centre, 65 women of the area registered their name as students of the centre & started coming in different batches that were formed by the teacher.

A women from the area “Maqsoodan bibi” told that she lives in a joint family of 20 members including her nine children. Her husband is a washer man who cannot earn money sufficient for all the expenses of the whole family that resulted mostly in fights & misunderstanding within all family members. She was very sad for it. She always dreamed to help her husband in earning but due to lack of resources & skills she couldn’t.  Bibi says “I’m very much hopeful for my dreams to come true after joining the HRO Vocational training centre as I’ve enrolled my name & have started learning the tailoring & embroidery. I can see my dreams coming true in near future now!”
